Wow factor is high. Seasonality is lower than monsoon Pacific chapters because the sea is dived year-round; wind and the khamsin still cancel days. Risk sits with current at Ras Mohammed, depth on wrecks, and the Blue Hole's lethal folklore, not with pool scores.
Red Sea · tagline
A rift-sea of walls and wrecks: Ras Mohammed, the Thistlegorm, Dahab's Blue Hole, and a year-round seasonality score that still bows to wind. The Red Sea is a rift between Africa and Arabia whose recreational map for most visitors is the Egyptian coast: Sharm el-Sheikh, Dahab, Hurghada, Safaga and the liveaboard circuit to the Brothers, Daedalus and Elphinstone. Ras Mohammed became a national park in 1983.

A British WWII cargo ship bombed in 1941 at Sha'ab Ali, rediscovered for the public by Cousteau-era film, now a mass recreational wreck. Holds are overhead. See wreck-diving.
Red Sea · Is Dahab's Blue Hole a beginner site?
The shallow rim can be snorkelled. The arch and deep hole are an advanced, lethal-if-casual scuba problem. Freedivers use it with a plan or not at all. See freedive-safety. A Tiran Strait reef, often dived as a drift with a wrecked freighter on the reef in the lore. Current and park rules apply.
