Udo?
A small island east of Jeju (the name means cow) with beaches and shallows used for snorkelling, including Hagosudong-type sand. A ferry, not a liveaboard.
Who are the haenyeo?
Jeju women who harvest on breath-hold, a living work culture listed by UNESCO in 2016. Tourists should not copy the work or treat a dive-ground as a playground. See freediving and Jeju's culture chapter.
Is Jeju tropical?
No. It is a warm-temperate to subtropical island. Visibility and soft-coral colour are seasonal, not a Maldives lagoon.
Seopseom?
Another Seogwipo islet on the same boat map as Munseom and Beomseom, often mentioned in the same brief.
Jungmun?
A resort coast with a beach and, nearby, the Daepo jusangjeolli (columnar joint) shore: geology as much as a snorkel. Swell closes it.
The method is a calm Udo or Hamdeok snorkel, or a Seogwipo checkout, then Munseom or Beomseom when swell and cards match. Haenyeo coasts are workplaces.
A first day belongs on a beach with an easy exit, not on a winter Beomseom.
