Quick answers

Does this atlas rank groups by IQ, race or nation?

No. Pathways and evidence stay individual. Scores are browsing aids — never group biological or racial ranks.

Do adults miss the boat?

Phonology often gets harder. Vocabulary, reading and pragmatic skill remain open. Lomb learned languages as an adult from texts and radio.

Is a polyglot the same as a novelist?

No. See writing-talent. An ear for grammar is not narrative architecture.

What about “language genes”?

FOXP2 stories were oversold. Language is polygenic and cultural. No swab ranks nations.

Did Mezzofanti prove a gift?

The cardinal’s legend is a historical case of huge multilingual skill — poorly measured by modern standards, endlessly mythologised.

Are immersion schools talent factories?

They raise opportunity. They do not equalise every ear.

Start with this section - Develop

Development here follows Gagné-like honesty: aptitudes, practice and catalysts. Linguistic talent is not a finished essence.

Windows differ by domain. A closed sport window is not a closed writing window. Read the clocks.
