Major honours
A gym started by Irish-born Brendan Ingle in a church hall on the outskirts of Sheffield's Wincobank, known as Britain's most distinctive school of style. Ingle's fighters share an unorthodox stance built around low hands, movement on the toes and constantly switching stance, a product of a training philosophy that prioritizes not getting hit above everything else. Middleweight Herol Graham showed the prototype, Johnny Nelson defended the WBO cruiserweight title more than ten times, and Naseem Hamed became British boxing's biggest box-office draw after winning the WBO featherweight title in 1995. IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook and IBF featherweight champion Kid Galahad also came out of the same gym. Since Brendan Ingle's death in 2018, his sons have carried on running it.

Rivalry
Ingle Gym's rival was the British boxing establishment's orthodox camp. Hamed's hands-down, weaving stance drew scorn from traditionalists, but he answered by holding the WBO featherweight title for years running. The domestic showdown between Kell Brook and Amir Khan only happened in 2022, after more than a decade of talk alone.
