A gym built in Yokohama by Hideyuki Ohashi, a two-time world champion at minimumweight, right after his own retirement. In the Japanese style of gym management, training, management and promotion sit under one organization, which designs its own fighters' matchups and broadcasts directly. The biggest product of this system is Naoya Inoue. After his 2012 pro debut, he won the WBC light-flyweight title in just his sixth fight, a Japanese record for speed, then unified all four bantamweight belts by beating Paul Butler in December 2022 and went undisputed at super bantamweight by beating Marlon Tapales in December 2023. His younger brother Takuma Inoue also won the WBA bantamweight title in 2023, giving the family two simultaneous world champions.

Rivalry

Inside Japan, Ohashi long competed for promotional leverage with the Dangan Gym, which produced Ryota Murata. On the international stage, top contenders from the lower Filipino and Mexican weight classes have kept coming for Inoue, and whether a domestic superfight with Junto Nakatani would happen was the biggest question in Japanese boxing in 2024.
