Major honours
Eugene Bareman built City Kickboxing out of a small downtown Auckland kickboxing gym, and within just a few years in the late 2010s it rose to become the best striking camp in the world. Its roster is among the smallest on this list, but a tight operating model, with one coach directly designing every fighter's game plan, produced outsized results. Nigerian-born New Zealander Israel Adesanya used precise distance management and counter-striking to win the middleweight belt in 2019 and defend it five times, while Australian Alexander Volkanovski held the featherweight title for more than four years in the same stretch, handing the gym two simultaneous belts. Dan Hooker and Kai Kara-France held top-tier positions in the lightweight and flyweight divisions, and this gym proved that fighters from the southern hemisphere could reach the top of the sport without relocating to the United States.

Rivalry
The rivalry between Adesanya and Alex Pereira began with two kickboxing losses and carried into UFC middleweight title fights in 2022 and 2023, while Volkanovski's two lightweight title fights against AKA's Islam Makhachev read as a direct clash between a striking camp and a wrestling camp.
